Homes Sales in Bellingham--First 10 Months

As seen in these graphs of home sales data for the first 10 months of 2008 and 2009, the median price of homes in Bellingham slipped from $305,000 in 2008 to $289,000 in 2009. This is a drop of 5.2%. The number of homes sold in the first 10 months of 2009 dropped to 743 from 806 in 2008, a drop of 7.8%.
These drops in price and the number of homes sold in Bellingham are much smaller than the drops elsewhere in the county. For example, Lynden home prices dropped by 9%, and the number of homes sold dropped by 24%. Home prices and the number of homes sold in Blaine dropped by about 11%.
