Wooden Boat Show

Port Townsend is home to the Wooden Boat Show. The harbor is full up with absolutely beautiful boats--sail and power. On Saturday, these wooden beauties all sail out into the bay for a race. Impressive sight.
 
Many boats are open for people to come aboard. Most of the boats are

meticulously maintained and/or restored. If you like wood, if you like boats, you will like this show. I am told that Port Townsend has many of the best wooden boat builders in the US.

The show also has many classes of all kinds related to boat building and restoration.
 
Port Townsend itself is a great town--lots of interesting shops and restaurants. Touristy but small, so not too crowded. Great street performers.
