South Hill Home Sales

South Hill neighborhood has a reputation for being one of the most desirable areas of Bellingham. Homes have character and are varied in architectural style, gardens are beautiful, neighbors are friendly, and the university, downtown and Fairhaven are within walking distance.
Historically, homes for sale often didn't make it to the market place. They were sold word-of-mouth. If they did appear for sale with a realtor, they often sold in hours or a few days.
Today, there are more than 20 homes for sale on South Hill. And many of them remain for sale a long time--sometimes up to a year or more. It seems as if homes sales on South Hill have stalled.
The reason may be that most South Hill homes are $400,000 and above. And, as is discussed elsewhere in this blog, homes sales in that price range are stalled. Hence, home sales in South Hill are stalled.
